Improving quality is a key requirement within the NHS and is the linchpin of everything we do in our Network; making our services safe, effective, patient centred, timely, efficient and equitable.
ODNs offer a model of care that is more closely linked to the patients' pathway and experience of care. Networks provide an environment where members can work collaboratively towards a shared purpose and are therefore well placed to facilitate quality improvement and build a culture that supports continuous improvement and learning. In the context of the Network therefore, quality improvement is about repeatedly working together to improve the experience and outcomes for patients and looking at ways of providing healthcare that continuously improves the way it meets the needs of patients.
